Donna Richardson Joyner, member of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition (PCFSN), is on a mission to help us live a healthier, more fulfilling, purposeful life. As such, she is a woman of many hats. Recognized as a renowned international lifestyle / fitness expert, Donna produced and sold millions of fitness videos including the best-selling video "Buns of Steel." She currently has the #1 Inspirational Fitness Infomercial in America titled "Body Gospel." Body Gospel Fit Clubs are taught in over 150 churches across the country. Donna was recently inducted into the Fitness Hall of Fame.
President Barack Obama appointed Donna to serve on PCFSN where she is the only member to have served under both Presidents Bush and Obama. Donna is also an Ambassador for First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! initiative.
Donna is an active philanthropist serving as an advisory board member of The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, dedicated to fighting childhood obesity. She is also a board member on the LPGA Foundation. She is on the advisory board and has served with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America for more than 20 years. Donna, founder of Grow Green Get Fit™ a 12-week curriculum designed for children and families that focuses on physical, nutritional, and environmental health, and is taught at YMCAs, churches, and schools. She has performed missionary work in Africa, Cuba, Haiti, South Africa, and Mexico, among other countries.
Donna has traveled and lectured in 42 states, 49 countries, and 6 continents. She was named by Essence Magazine as "one of the twenty five most inspiring women in America." Donna has been a teacher at Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy for girls in South Africa. In March 2011, she climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, the tallest freestanding mountain in the world at 19,341 feet.
She has produced several television shows, and just completed her second book Witness To Fitness: The Journey to Newness and Wholeness in Your Health. Short Bio
