President's Challenge Program Updates

New Materials

The Presidential, National, and Participant certificates have a new look. The certificates, which recognize student achievement on the physical fitness program, still feature the president's signature and President's Challenge program seal. Other items that are new this year are the President's Challenge t-shirt, water bottle, windbreaker and gym mats. To view these new items, please visit the President's Challenge order center at
https://www.presidentschallenge.org/

The 2009-2010 President's Challenge program book and poster is here! Visit: http://brochure.presidentschallenge.org/ to download a free copy or to request a printed version. Pop artist Charles Fazzino, designer of the 2008-2009 poster, graciously donated his time and talents to this year's poster. To view or purchase the poster, please visit www.presidentschallenge.org.

State Champion Schools Announced

The 2008-2009 State Champion Schools were announced on October 1st. State Champion schools have the highest percentage of students qualify for the Presidential Physical Fitness Award based on total school enrollment. Up to three schools in each state can earn this recognition (one school for each enrollment category). To view the 2008-2009 designees, please visit

Demonstration Center Coordinators Needed

Demonstration Center Coordinators are volunteers who agree to review applications from schools seeking to be certified as Demonstration Centers.  These volunteers play an important role by helping to recognize model physical education classes and curricula.  The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) is working with the PCPFS staff and President's Challenge program administrators to identify coordinators in all 50 states.  States can have multiple coordinators, which help lessen the burden that might be placed on a single individual.  States without a coordinator include Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, and Wyoming.  Please visit http://www.presidentschallenge.org/
educators/school_recognition/demo_center.aspx
to learn more about this important initiative.  Anyone interested in serving as a coordinator is encouraged to send an email stating that interest to preschal@indiana.edu
