Chris Paul, a member of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition, is a professional basketball player for the NBA Los Angeles Clippers. In 2008, Paul led the Hornets to their first Southwest Division title in franchise history and finished runner-up in the NBA MVP balloting. Also that year, Paul helped Team USA recapture the gold medal as a member of the Men's U.S. Olympic basketball team.
A native of Winston-Salem, NC and All-American at Wake Forest University, Paul currently holds the NBA record for consecutive games with a steal (108) and was a 2008-09 NBA All-Defensive First Team selection.
Off the court, Paul is very charity-minded and started the CP3 Foundation with his family in 2006 to support his philanthropic efforts in both Winston-Salem and New Orleans. Chris is also an author and released his first children's book in the fall of 2009 through Simon & Schuster entitled "Long Shot: Never Too Small to Dream Big."
